Okay, so it's that horrible time. The website is down. Our hosting is repropagating all of the images and new content for an unknown amount of time.

If our website was a phone in help service, you'd hear "Thank you for contacting Fancy Fin Photography. We are sorry, but all services are currently busy. Please hold until the next available webpage appears. You are very important to us."

Okay, again, the good news is that we'll have a newly updated website and blog that will be much cooler than our old site. So check back and I'll let everyone know when the site is back up.

Our Website may go down for a little bit...

Okay, so there is good news, and there is bad news.

Bad News: Our site may go down temporarily in the next couple of days. Hopefully not lasting more than 24 hours at a time. Hopefully....*Crosses fingers*

Good News: The reason why it'll go down once or twice will be to update the website with the new design and layout Raeleen has been working so hard on. Also, we'll be putting up a new slightly fancier blog!

So there's the trade off. We have to take a bit of downtime to get out the awesome designs we've been working on (especially Rae).

In the meantime, I'll try and keep everyone updated here when our site will be officially up and down. As of recently, it's still up, I don't know exactly when it'll go down though, or when it'll be back up. Keep posted....

Oh, and Happy almost Turkey Day!

Emily's Portrait Session

Emily and I made our way out to the industrial area of South Seattle and got the chance to take some portraits with a bunch of great machines and colors. The mix of locations and the shapes of the background elements were a ton of fun to work with, and Emily was so easy to photograph. We had a such a great time exploring the area and really creating a unique portrait session.

Ericka's Portrait Session

Sasha's Portrait Session

She wanted a bit of an edgy and urban feel to the images, so we went with Seattle's awesome downtown streets and found great areas to photograph.

Morghan's Portrait Session

Halloween Party!

Sam and Matt's Engagement Session

Here's a quick dip into Samantha and Matt's engagement session. October quickly brought us some questionable weather here in the Seattle area, but we got lucky and found a Sunday with sun!

Rae and I had never shot at Mcauliffe Park in Kirkland, but it definitely was a treat. It's a small spot, but there's a lot of different spots for shooting. Bamboo shoots, a windmill, and a really cool old, unused barn with Ivy growing across it's side.

Trash the Dress session in Arizona

On Rae and I's trip down to Arizona to see Allie and Kyle's wedding venue, we got a chance to see the Grand Canyon. So why not take some pictures? Allie was awesome! She rocked out one of our model gowns and we did pictures on the Canyon trails and throughout a few spot in Sedona. Just check out the landscape, it is amazing.

Rae and I's Anniversary

August 13th is Raeleen and I's anniversary. As of that date this year we've been married for 3 years! I proposed to Raeleen on horseback at sunset on the beach in Ocean Shores. So every year for our anniversary we go out to that area and spend a few days together. We had a great time.

Some may notice that it's almost November and I'm posting this now. Well, as you can imagine, August and September were rather busy months for us. We shot 12 weddings in August this year, so finding the time to celebrate our anniversary alone was difficult enough a task. We've finally gotten some time to sit down and edit a few of the pictures of our trip.

Here are a few shots of Ocean Shores, and Rae and I on the other side of the camera :)

Will you be my Pumpkin?

It's less than a week now until Halloween and Raeleen and I went to Fall City Farms to go Pumpkin pickin'. We started this tradition last year after we shot Sue and Ryan's wedding and found out that the farm had a few pumpkin patches. What an awesome farm!

Later that evening we ended up with some friends for some pumpkin carvin'!

Beer, candy, pumpkins and cheesy horror movies. What a night :)

Here it is! The one. Rae and Andy's pumpkin 2009! Check out those wicked warts :)

I know most of you think I'm seriously packing muscle under the jacket, but this 40 pounder caught my breathe a bit. I'll definitely be working on my pumpkin reps for next year.

Isn't it cute? Rae and I spotted this little guy to add an extra touch of season to the front door.

I had less trouble with the little guy. See that? One hand...

I think this one is a bat. Kinda crazy, but cool :)

"Under the Goardwalk"

Here's Rae carving out Andy's shark design. Most of the gang went with spiders, ghosts, scary and fun faces. Rae and I went with the Shark theme. Toothy great white coming out of the waves!

Our trip to Arizona to see Allie and Kyle!

First off, I want to warn everyone that this post is a bit long. There's quite a few pictures, but I really couldn't cut any more. Raeleen and I had an awesome time on this trip.

Here's how it started. Raeleen and I met Allie and Kyle at Bizzy and Geoff's wedding. Kyle was one of Geoff's groomsmen. Long story short, Rae and I had an awesome time getting to know Kyle and Allie and soon became their photographers for their wedding in Sedona, Arizona next year! You might remember Allie and Kyle from their engagment session at Snoqualmie falls earlier this summer.

Anyway, Kyle and Allie flew us out to Arizona recently to check out their venue in Sedona, get a chance to see the Grand Canyon, and spend a decent amount of time in their pool playing badminton and drinking martinis :)

I'll comment on the pictures as you see them, but just to give you a heads up, we put Allie in a dress for a couple locations around the Canyon and Sedona and did a trash the dress session to spruce up the trip. That'll probably explain any questions about why she's in a dress in a few of the pictures :)

Have fun checking out the pictures, it is so fun to look back at them and remember what an awesome time we had with Allie and Kyle. Thanks Allie and thanks Kyle, you guys are awesome people and we can't wait to be a part of your wedding day next spring!

These first three shots above were taken on our first hike of the trip. We started hiking at about 8am up Camelback Mountain with Kyle. By 9am the heat started up and got into the 90s. Here's a shot Kyle took of Rae and I finding the only patch of shade on the mountain. Seriously...

Above is another one of the house guests while staying in Arizona. Isn't he cute?

This was the sunrise we saw from the car on the way to the Grand Canyon (which I'd never been to before). Arizona is absolutely stunning.

Alright, see those switchbacks? Yeah, there's a lot of 'em on the hike down from the South Ridge of the Grand Canyon.

Here's Rae taking up the rear and grabbing a shot of Kyle, Allie and I.

What a view! Although, apparently I'm giving Rae a funny look...

The mules that walk up and down the trail are hardcore. We passed a couple groups of tourists riding back up the trail and got forced to the side while they passed. Above you can see Rae's view while she was pinned between the mules and the rocks behind her. :)

Here's Allie and Kyle in Sedona. There's this amazing European-esque square in Sedona called Tlaquepaque Village that has awesome little shops and restaurants.

Prince Charming, I presume?

Okay, so this lamp is part of the wind and rock sculpture shop called El Prado that was part of Tlaquepaque Village. They had awesome metal and rock work. The shot below is a detail shot of one of the wind sculptures. The movement of these things were awesome.

This was the start of another hike near Sedona. Kyle and Allie got engaged on this trail, you'll see some shots of that spot below. This doorway in the rocks was really neat. I went up and checked it out and apparently it's a small room where people who lived nearby would store their wine, food, etc. to keep it cool. The little room was carved right out of the rock.

Isn't this spot gorgeous? There were a few landscape photographers here, who could blame 'em?

That's me on top of the rock. What looks like amazing climbing skills is just a tall hillside right behind me :)

Have no idea what this catepillar was. He was really cool looking, colorful and might have been poisonous... That really didn't stop me from picking it up with a stick though.

Autumn and Anthony's Wedding

What a sunset! Autumn and Anthony's wedding at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club was absolutely stunning. Rae started the day with Autumn at the W hotel in Seattle. Autumn was wearing her beautiful Vera Wang dress and her hair and makeup gave her such a great classic beauty look.

I met up with Anthony and his brother in North Seattle and the guys got ready together. We met up with Autumn at the venue and had their first meeting right above the shores of Shilshole. Beautiful...

The ceremony was wonderful and the night went perfectly. Congratulations Autumn and Anthony! Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your day :)

Our new tomato plant!

Okay, so as cheesy as this post must sound, Rae and I have to tell everyone about our sad new tomato plant. Rae's best friend just moved to Colorado and asked us to adopt her tomato plant. The plant looks a little worn and has definitely seen better days, but we're hoping it'll pull through.

The new addition to the studio is just outside the showroom and now has a nice view of Seattle and Lake Washington :)

Florence and Elmer's Wedding

Raeleen and I's day started at the Double Tree hotel in SeaTac on the day of Florence and Elmer's wedding. I quickly met up with Elmer and his best man getting ready. The guys' shirts were awesome! The 3rd image in the still set below the slideshow gives you an idea of the detail that went into the shirts. Very cool, very Filipino! :)

Raeleen met up with Florence and her maid of honor in the penthouse suite to get a couple shots before they headed out in the limo to the church. Florence looked so beautiful!

The Filipino ceremony took place at St. Anthony's Catholic Parish. One thing that I love about Elmer and Florence's culture is the traditional coin and cord ceremony. Two family members or friends will come up to the bride and groom and place a cord binding the couple together. Then another two people will place a veil over their heads. It's such a beautiful, symbolic tradition that always makes me smile :)

The evening ended again at the Double Tree Hotel, where the reception took place. The decorations were awesome! Clariza Dizon & Nicole Dizon Gates who own and operate Your Paper Dolls did an amazing job with the centerpieces and all of the gorgeous setup for the reception.

So say the least, we had a great time with Florence and Elmer. They were easy going and it was easy to see they were in love and having a wonderful time. I hope you enjoy these shots of their day and the slideshow.

Andrea and Matt's Wedding

It is always a great time when Raeleen and I meet up with Andrea and Matt. We had a wonderful time shooting their engagement session in San Francisco earlier this summer and couldn't wait to see them back up in Seattle for the wedding.

The UW Botanical Garden was beautiful for the wedding. We had sun in the skies and the trees and plants were a perfect background to the day. I started the day with Matt and his friends at the Ram in Seattle where they watched the USC game (Matt's College) and had a few beers. Rae, on the other hand, started the day at the salon with the ladies while they beautified :)

Andrea and Matt decided not to see each other before the wedding. This gave the wedding such an emotional element that really gave meaning to the first time he saw her coming down the isle in her dress. After the wedding we took Andrea and Matt aside and had a hard time not grabbing stunning pictures of them. It was awesome, the sun was perfect and Andrea looked so beautiful.

Shannon and Jonah's Wedding

The small, quiet and historic town of Port Gamble has a lot of meaning for Raeleen and I. Just over 3 years ago, we were married in the same church that Shannon and Jonah were married in here. What an experience, and wonderful opportunity to look at Port Gamble from a different perspective.

Shannon and Jonah's wedding was just lovely. One thing that makes Port Gamble so great is the views of the Puget Sound to the north and the feel of the warm, inviting old buildings. That along with the weather holding quite nicely, made for a romantic evening and a gorgeous sunset over the water and the islands to the west.

If you ever have the opportunity to hop the ferry from Edmonds to Kingston, make sure you check out this small town, but don't blink when you're driving by, because you just might miss something amazing...

Deanna and Alex's Wedding

Deanna and Alex's wedding at Hidden Meadows in Snohomish made for an interesting day. The ceremony was planned for outside on the beautiful green grass outside the old farmhouse. Then came the rain :) I was so pleased to see that the rain didn't affect how excited Deanna and Alex were to be getting married that day. They rolled with the change and their ceremony took place in a lovely ceremony room next door to the reception building. The lighting, and the chandeliers were perfect.

After the toasts and the dance, we grabbed the unsuspecting couple for some shots in the rain on the train tracks nearby. What a sweet time! The rain was so much fun, we got to use the umbrella and really captured their joy in the rain. What a beautiful wedding day!

As Deanna and Alex will tell you, if it rains, all you need is an umbrella and a bit of enthusiasm to capture fun and unique shots :)

Laura and Peter's Wedding

Laura and Peter spent their morning wedding at Monte Villa Farmhouse, a charming venue with tons of history. One very interesting piece of the wedding was the tying of the knot. We don't see this too often, but it is always a fun and personal moment to see the families give their rope to the couple to knot into one.

After the celebration we drove out to the University of Washington campus to grab some more fun images with the bridal party and some more intimate shots with Laura and Peter. The architecture is always so beautiful, and the campus has so many great spots. Laura and Peter looked amazing!

Katelyn and Scott's Wedding

The Hollywood Schoolhouse is always a fun spot to shoot. Katelyn and Scott's wedding had such a wonderful charm. The inside of the schoolhouse has such a classic look that complimented the wedding perfectly. Check out the sofa that Rae had Katelyn lying on in the slideshow, beautiful color and such a great look.
The same charm and sense of class and fun seemed to follow the wedding throughout the night. Beautiful red satin linens hanging from the walls, the old wood bar, tall mirrors and hanging chandeliers. What a mood to set for Katelyn and Scott's big day. I hope you enjoy their images, and thanks for looking :)

Website Update!

Just wanted to let you all know that we've updated the website a little. There is a new wedding slideshow in our portfolio page: Andrea and Matt's wedding. Andrea was Elizabeth's (another bride from our portfolio) maid of honor and visa versa. They had an awesome wedding at the UW Botanical Gardens. If you get a chance, check it out. I'll blog about their wedding soon, too, so keep an eye on that.

Holly and Lawrence's Wedding

Raeleen and I spent the weekend with Holly and Lawrence for their wedding outside of Leavenworth at the Mt. Springs Lodge. What a weekend!

Friday was the start of the fun. Holly and Lawrence held a BBQ complete with a full blown blue grass band to play us through the evening. To add to the atmosphere, Lawrence brought up his classic VW van and parked it outside for the guests to sit in and check out. The VW van was so cute, Lawrence had restored it to perfect honeymooning condition so they could ride off together after the wedding.

The next day was wedding day. Holly and her ladies had their own lodge, getting ready with Glynne Davies doing the hair and makeup, and the guys played a little football before getting into their tuxes. From there, the day began wonderfully. Just as Lawrence went off to get ready, Holly stopped by to see him before she got into her gown and gave him a last kiss before they would be walking down the isle. What a wonderful moment.

From Holly's grandfather, who's spunk kept the guests smiling, to the small children, who's spunk kept the parents on their toes, the wedding celebration was certainly a generational gathering that projected a great love for the couple.

There is so much to tell about the wedding. Hopefully these images will tell a bit of the story of Holly and Lawrence. I still smile when I think about them driving off to the coast for their honeymoon in their old VW van. :)

Jenny and Garrett's Wedding

This was our second wedding at Copper Creek Lodge in Ashford, Washington. Apparently, we're one of their two preferred photographers, the other being their town photographer :) Being an hour and a half drive away and tucked in at the base of Mt. Rainier, Jenny and Garrett had a lovely, very personal ceremony. The weather was perfect, and the wedding was naturely beautiful.
One fun aspect about Copper Creek Lodge is the creek that runs behind the venue, there's a trail that leads to the water and it always makes for a fun spot to get some shots. Have a taste of their wedding day! :)

Allison and Henry's Wedding

Bekah and Brandon's Wedding

Just down the hill from Bekah's mother's home sat their beautiful ceremony looking out over the lake on the left. Rae and I definitely felt the sense of intimacy between the couple, and their little daughter, Cameron. The family radiated such a sense of love together. A family becoming one through marriage, Bekah, Brandon, and Cameron had a beautiful Wedding.

Kristin and Cory's Wedding

The Lakeside on the waterfront gave us a gorgeous view of Seattle on the day of Kristin and Cory's wedding. But the view wasn't the only interesting aspect of the wedding. Imagine a fleet of New York family with more than healthy personalities crowded into one event. You get a lot of talk, and a lot of fun :)

Kristin's family was a riot. They even made time to sing and dance to "New York, New York" with the new bride and groom! Arms clasped together and kicks in unison! The evening ended on a small cruise around Lake Washington. The atmosphere was upbeat, and the dancing on the boat was hardly for the faint of heart :)

Jeannine and Brian's Wedding

Raeleen and I love the Skansonia. It's got a great view of Seattle and there's a classic charm to the boat that gives it such personality. I'm sure Jeannine and Brian thought the same thing when they chose the boat for their wedding.

Rae and I met Riley for the first time on Annika and Erik's shoot. The little white fluff was adorned in a pink collar and leash and followed the couple throughout the entire shoot. We just had to include this third member of the new family in their shots!

Annika and Erik wanted to capture a little bit of their neighborhood, Madison Park. We got to take a walk by the shops and ended up at the dock and beach for a few shots on the water. An absolutely great couple, Raeleen and I can't wait to capture their wedding this October at the Rainier Club in Seattle. Keep an eye out for a few shots of Annika and Erik, and most certainly Riley, later on this fall.

Autumn and Anthony's Engagement Session

Autumn and Anthony spent their session with Raeleen and I at Golden Gardens in Seattle, just down the street from their wedding that we'll be photographing this September. We had such a beautiful sunset, it was hard not to capture them in this warm, amazing light. Our late afternoon shoot with Florence and Elmer at Alki Beach went off beautifully. We had a lot of sun, a gorgeous view of the water, and a couple that is very much in love. What a setup!

Morgan's Senior Photoshoot

A new Senior in High School, Morgan is our first Senior Photo session. Rae and I had a great time! Definitely different from weddings, but equally as enjoyable and challenging.

We started at Gasworks Park in Seattle and cruised our way south to Pike Place Market. Notice the famous (or infamous, depends on who you ask) Gum wall! From there we ended our session on Alki Beach.

Just to spice it up a bit, Morgan brought along her boyfriend, David and his guitar. Very cute couple, and it was fun to capture their relationship together.

All in all, a wonderful experience, and Rae and I are looking forward to shooting more of these in the future. Have fun watching the slideshow!

Allie and Kyle's Engagement Session

Raeleen and I met Allie and Kyle for the first time at Bizzy and Geoff's wedding. Kyle was one of Geoff's groomsmen who'd flown into Seattle from Arizona to be a part of the wedding, and Allie is his lovely fiance. Rae and I had a great time talking and hanging out with them in Winthrop, and Kyle and Allie were gracious enough to ask us to photograph their wedding next year in Sedona, Arizona. Sweet! We love meeting new people and creating new friendships :)

Long story short, we ended up having lunch in Bellevue the day after we all got back from Winthrop and headed out to do some engagement photos of them the next day at Snoqualmie Falls. We had an awesome time! Rae and I are really looking forward to being a part of their wedding next spring in Arizona. Hope you all love their engagement shots!

Elizabeth and Geoff's Wedding in Winthrop!

So here's a slideshow of the wedding I've been blogging about the past few posts. Bizzy and Geoff's wedding in Winthrop was amazing! Raeleen and I drove over on Thursday and spent the afternoon meeting the family and hanging out with Bizzy and Geoff's friends. The next morning Andy drove off with Geoff and one of his groomsmen, Kyle, to play a round of golf with about 20 other wedding guests/family. Needless to say, Andy's drives were quite lovely throughout all 18 holes :)

From there we cruised back to Bizzy and Geoff's ceremony site (Bizzy's parent's place on the family farm) and had the rehearsal. A quick practice run on the ceremony and we all headed down to another family member's home on the Chewuch River for the friday night BBQ. What a great time! You'll have to check out some of those pictures in the previous blog post.

Wedding day, Rae spent the morning with the girls at the salon, and Andy was up at Geoff's cabin with the guys. After everyone was dressed and ready, Geoff drove up the hill to the family's Bell Tower to see Bizzy in her dress for the first time. The shots of them alone on top of the hill overlooking the mountains in the slideshow is exactly this moment. Stunning. Elizabeth looked beautiful, it was such a blessing to be there for their first moments that day.
From there, we captured some gorgeous images of Elizabeth in front of her grandfather's barn, who hand planed the doors you see in her pictures. The same barn that Elizabeth and her family used for their traditional barn dances!

The rest of the day went beautifully on the family's 500+ acres of land overlooking the Methow Valley. The ceremony was perfect, the reception was graced with the feeling of close family, and the night ended with Elizabeth and Geoff even more in love than ever, if possible.
Raeleen and I are so excited for their pictures, and we hope you love them! Their slideshow may take a few moments to load, but I promise, it's worth it.

Bizzy and Geoff Rehearsal BBQ

Our Winthrop BBQ the day before Elizabeth and Geoff's wedding! Tomorrow I'll post Bizzy and Geoff's Wedding slideshow, but for tonight, here are the pre-wedding shots on the friday before the big day.
Rae and I spent the weekend with the couple and the family in Withrop, so we were there for the family rehearsal BBQ. Hot Dogs, the beautiful river that ran down by the property, Bocce Ball, Volleyball. Too much fun! Check out the shot of the dog. Nothing like 6 children running in circles and snagging a couple stray hot dogs to wear a pup out :)

The town of Winthrop!

Rae and I got to spend 4 days in Winthrop, Washington for Elizabeth and Geoff's wedding. Some may say, "What's in Winthrop?", and I'd say, "Well, not much." What there is, though, is a lot of fun and a lot of small town charm. The people are friendly, and the weather is wonderful.
You'll see where the real beauty of Winthrop lies soon, when we post Elizabeth and Geoff's wedding. Just to give you an idea, the wedding took place about 7 miles outside of Winthrop on their family's 500+ acre property overlooking the Methow Valley and the Northern Cascades. Stunning. So in the meantime, here are Rae and I's Winthrop shots from our walk around town before the drive home. The last shot was taken from the road on the North Cascade Highway heading towards Seattle. In the shadow of Mt. Rainier in the little town of Orting, Washington, Tiffany and Jason had an absolutely beautiful wedding. We spent our day on the greens of High Cedars Golf Course, where for the first time ever, Jason saw Tiffany in a dress. The look on his face when he saw Tiffany for the first time that day was a wonderful experience for Rae and I to see through the lens. Such a beautiful moment. Andrea and Matt's Engagement Session in SF

What an awesome day! Raeleen and I got to go to San Francisco to spend the day with Andrea and Matt for their engagement session. We went everywhere! Starting in Chinatown, we did some urban shots, then made our way down to the Ferry Building on the water and hopped on some trolleys. From there, we drove out to Sonoma Valley to visit Ridge Winery and do some tasting and some beautiful shots of the vineyards. Such stunning scenery! After the vineyards, we made our way back to the city and looked out over the Golden Gate Bridge from the north side of San Francisco (Atleast I think it was north). The wind got us back into the car and we took off to Baker Beach. There we took off the shoes and made our way to the rocks for some great views of the GG Bridge. We ended our day about 8 hours after we began, back in the heart of San Francisco (no pun intended). What a day! Here's the slideshow with a piece of the day. San Francisco Trip!

Raeleen and I went down to San Francisco to do an engagement shoot with Andrea and Matt who are getting married this August. Their blog pictures will be up very soon, but in the meantime, here are a couple pictures from our road trip down (Yes, we decided to drive!) Just to give you some context, we stopped in Hilt, California on the way down and grabbed a couple rustic shots there. On Saturday, we shot the engagement session with Andrea and Matt. Then on Sunday, we went to Napa Valley and visted a few wineries in the area. From Peju, to Mumms, to Domaine Carneros, the wine was flowing! :) On Monday (the day we were supposed to leave), we stayed in SF to visit the Golden Gate Park were we went the botanical garden, saw the roses, and of course, the squirrels :) Hope you enjoy this taste of our San Francisco trip!

New Camera!!! Nikon D3

Okay, so to the untrained eye, this perhaps means nothing. But to Raeleen and I, it means a significant upgrade in equipment. The Nikon D3 is an amazing camera that is the top of the line right now for photographers. Winning awards for the Camera of the Year, it is definitely something to take a look at. It has incredible low light capabilities and will prove to be a wonderful addition to our current equipment lineup. Here's a quick shot of the new camera!

Bryce and Amanda's Wedding

These two are a pair of our best friends. Bryce and Amanda's wedding was very special and very unique. Raeleen and I met Bryce and Amanda at Smith Cove Park in Seattle for their wedding. There were five people invited: Bryce and Amanda, of course, the pastor, Jim, and Raeleen and I as the witnesses/photographers. It was a very romantic wedding taking place on a rock overlooking the Puget Sound, very close to the restaurant Palisade. After the wedding (and the cheers and tears from the witnesses/photographers) we made our way out the the breakwater where there was a beautiful view of Seattle, and a wonderful blue sky. Viking Fest 2008!!!

Raeleen and I made it out to Poulsbo this last weekend for the 40th Annual Viking Fest. It's Raeleen's nordic heritage that brings us every year or two to the Norwegian gathering. There's a slideshow of the parade and a few images from the weekend below, so be sure to check that out.

On a side note, Raeleen and I have been watching our fair share of "Planet Earth" by BBC, and in the midst of the Viking Fest parade we believe that we spotted the smallest Wildebeest...in the world. Be sure to watch for him (or her), you can identify it by it's distinct markings on its shaved body and the small patch of hair on its head (Image number 8 in the slideshow). Also, keep an eye out for the very rare and very ferocious Viking Turtle.

Green Festival

Raeleen and I went to the GreenFest this year. It was in Seattle at the convention center and had all sorts of information on sustainable resources. Everything from recycled papers to hemp milk, and everything inbetween. It was a great experience and a fun opportunity to see who in Seattle is addressing the movement towards sustainable energy and resources.

These computers were running purely off of bicycle power. I'm not saying that I'd ever hook my bike up to my computer to edit weddings, but it's kind of a cool thought.

Back from Las Vegas!

So Raeleen and I went to Las Vegas this last week for 5 days. We went to WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International), which is a seminar and tradeshow driven convention with over 10,000 photographers from around the world held every year in Vegas.

We had a great time! We had the opportunity to check out new products to start offering our brides and among other things, meet and develop relationships with other photographers in the wedding business. We just got back in, so I'm still going through some of the shots we took, but I'll be putting up a slideshow on our blog soon to show you our trip. Keep posted!

What a view from their wedding site. From the North end of Kitsap, Kristan and Erik captured their love for nature as well as themselves with sweeping views of the water and mountains. My favorite spot in particular was the beach we took them to below their reception site. Wow, Ashford, Washington is out there. Rae and I drove on out to the base of Mt Rainier to meet up with Raina and Zach at Copper Creek Lodge. What we found was this lovely site that had a few cabins for guests, a firepit, and a really great creek that ran through the woods nearby. Helen and Patrick Wedding - July 7th

7/7/07 was a great wedding day for us. We spent it on Raeleen's old college campus, the University of Washington, with Helen and Patrick. They had a lovely outdoor ceremony in a garden on the campus. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day, gorgeous blue skies and everything was green. The campus offered so many spots for pictures it was hard to choose. Here's a few that we like the best. Nicolette and John had a beautiful reception at Salty's on Alki. They had been married earlier in the year and held a reception to share their new begininng with their families and friends. They had a beautiful location, right on the water at Seattle's Alki beach, so we used the wonderful weather and the beautiful landscape to our advantage. Bethany and Ryan's Wedding - June 24th

Bethany and Ryan had a beautiful ceremony. Their Jewish faith brought meaningful ceremonial traditions, as well as exciting jewish dances. Their joy and their wonderful spirit made their wedding an absolute blast to shoot. From getting into the middle of a circle of fast paced dancing guests, to photographing a delicately performed and emotional father/daughter dance that I'm sure Bethany will never forget. Sue and Ryan's Engagement Session

Here are a couple fun shots from Sue and Ryan's Engagement session we did at Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland last weekend.

We had a lot of fun adding their two pups into a few of the shots. Mackenzie and Brandy (Boston Terriers, I think) were very energetic and seemed to have a thing for running after the ducks when the opportunity presented itself.

Hope you enjoy the shots, they were a very fun couple.

Jody and Matt's Wedding!

A few weeks ago we got to shoot a beautiful wedding at the Skansonia Ferry Boat in Seattle, Wa. It turned out to be an absolutely lovely day, and a very fun, very beautiful wedding.

Rae and I had an absolute blast photographing Jody and Matt, their sense of humor and the fun atmosphere at the wedding made for a great time. I'll post a couple of their photos for you to enjoy.

Hello, everyone (or rather anyone) whose reading! Raeleen and I are Seattle Wedding Photographers and decided to put up a little blog to share some of our fun weddings, engagement sessions, and give us some space to blab a bit :)
